Active oxygen
Oxygen is the basis for the normal functioning of our body, but for bacteria, viruses and fungi it has a destructive effect. Problems associated with them are naturally solved by oxygen which can be used both on the skin and mucous membranes as it is non-irritating and has no side effects.
Active oxygen has two essential functions in our body:
It accelerates the natural processes of wound healing and tissue repair and kills harmful bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Other effects of active oxygen on our cells:
- helps at hypoxia (lack of oxygen in the tissues)
- increases tissue immunity
- analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect
- has no side effects
- can be used with no time limit
Active oxygen kills micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses and fungi) by breaking through their cell walls and the cells spill out. Micro-organisms have no protective mechanism against single oxygen because they have no mitochondria and so are unable to handle oxygen as they have no respiratory system of their own. In human cells, the cell wall does not perforate or puncture as it is built with an efficient protective system.
Active oxygen (O1) has twice the energy of normal O2. In our cells, this means extra energy transfer which leads to an improved systemic effect!
Our active oxygen is derived from peracetic acid and is completely harmless. It breaks down into water and acetic acid, which can be taken into the body, unlike hydrogen peroxide, chlorine, alcohol, iodine, boric acid or permanganate, which are toxic if ingested or absorbed into the body through mucous membranes.
As in hydrogen peroxide, the active oxygen in peracetic acid is still nascent but, unlike hydrogen peroxide, is more easily stabilised in aqueous solution. Hydrogen peroxide has no disinfectant effect at concentrations below 3%, whereas peracetic acid is stable and effective against micro-organisms even at a concentration of 0.08%.
A prepared working solution of 0.08% peracetic acid is stable for one year, while all concentrations below 3% hydrogen peroxide are stable for 48 hours.
The activity of the nascent oxygen is based on its high reactivity with all nearby agents, both micro-organisms and impurities. It can be used for thorough cleansing, especially of the facial skin, which is not washed as often as the hands and which is exposed to various impurities throughout the day.
Products containing active oxygen from peracetic acid have a distinctive vinegar smell, which is a testament to the freshness and stability of the product.
